1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of QuickLinker ("we," "our," or "us"), a Sole Trader business registered in England and Wales. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Accounts
- Registration: You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
- Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for any activities or actions under your account.
- Age: You must be at least 13 years old to use this service.
3. Fair Use & Throttling
To ensure the stability of QuickLinker for all users, we enforce a strict Fair Use Policy:
- Traffic Limits: Free accounts are limited to 100 redirects per month. Pro accounts have a significantly higher allowance. Usage beyond your plan's limit may result in redirects being temporarily paused until the next billing cycle.
- Non-Human Traffic: We reserve the right to throttle, block, or terminate accounts that exhibit excessive non-human traffic patterns (e.g., bot networks, scraping scripts, or DDoS attacks).
- Right to Throttle: If your usage negatively impacts our infrastructure, we may temporarily limit your redirect speed or suspend your account without prior notice.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use QuickLinker to:
- Shorten links to illegal content, malware, phishing sites, or spam.
- Violate any laws in your jurisdiction or the United Kingdom.
- Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.
We reserve the right to remove any link and ban any user found violating these rules.
5. Payments & Refunds
- Processing: Payments are processed securely via our third-party billing provider. We do not store your full credit card number. Our billing provider may retain a tokenised reference and the last four digits of your card for display and identification purposes.
- Subscriptions: Services are billed in advance on a subscription basis. You may cancel at any time, but we do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. By subscribing, you request immediate access to the service and acknowledge that you lose your statutory right of withdrawal (cooling-off period) once the service has been provided.
6. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. When you delete your account, all associated data — including your shortcuts, tags, analytics, and usage records — is permanently and immediately deleted from our systems. This action cannot be undone.
7. Third-Party Services
QuickLinker relies on the following third-party services to operate. Your use of QuickLinker is also subject to their respective terms:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Clerk — authentication and user management
- Convex — database and backend
- Vercel — hosting and edge infrastructure
- Upstash — caching and rate limiting
- PostHog — product analytics
- Resend — transactional emails
- Logo.dev — website favicon images
8. Limitation of Liability
Please read this carefully.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- QuickLinker is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
- We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including loss of data, revenue, or profits) arising from your use of the service or any downtime or service failure.
- Total Liability: In no event shall our total liability to you exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of QuickLinker after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes relating to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
